Thermowood does not “walk” like tropical wood. It does not bend, crack or resin like larch, and does not rot like pine or spruce. Therefore, the best choice for a humid, rather harsh and volatile UK climate is the thermowood decking boards. Wood is cut from PEFC certified forest and certified by CATAS.
Decking boards from thermo-treated ash are much more stable to external influences, than boards made of “Exotic” tropical wood. Their surface over time does not become a rough, just like surface of a tropical wood boards also. But in comparing, the thermo-treated ash has the great advantage of being the highest quality boards with a minimal maintenance on the long-term use. For aesthetic reasons, simple boards maintenance with oil every 3 to 5 years is recommended. Thermowood boards can also be operated without any surface treatment. In this way, the rain, wind and the ultraviolet rays of the sun will give the decking an elegant shade of gray. Due to its extremely high durability properties, thermo-treated ash wood also has its own color, which is very similar to the exotic wood.
